Remember when we told you that the 10-year old kid in Iron Man 3 (Harley) had something up his sleeve (other than a potato gun)? Well, that kid (Ty Simpkin) has been talking to press -- never advisable, Ty.
What he had to say (in an over-zealous kid kind of way) is this:
"Have you ever heard about the comic book Nova? We read an article about how Harley might be my middle name, and Keener could be my mom’s maiden name, and my dad could have joined the Nova Corps.
Then my real name’s Richie and I actually figure it out because my mom gets killed by an alien, then I figure out that my dad joined the Nova Corps, and I join the Nova Corps and I become Nova."
You have to love how this quote reads all kid-like, right? Well, Ty might be onto something. Maybe 'Harley' is his middle name, and maybe his mom is actually killed by an alien, and maybe he does become Nova. Maybe. Or, maybe he's just an excited kid that's been reading too much of his own press (again, not advisable, Ty!).
But, you also have to think about this: studios don't like it when actors (no matter how old they are) talk. Most of the time, actors have to check with a whole bunch of people before making any kind of public statement. Are we saying that Ty was put up to the task of letting the public know about his future role as Nova? Not necessarily.
We are saying this, though: you haven't seen the last of Harley. Not by a long shot. Now that he's officially been set up with his own Stark Studio (courtesy of his well-off mentor, Tony Stark), Harley has nowhere to go but up. Thoughts?
