Carano Would Consider Wonder Woman 0

Wonder Woman is a symbol of strength. She has to be tough, independent, and must have those amazing Amazonia features. In short, Gina Carano would make an amazing Wonder Woman, and hers is the first name that tends to pop up when speaking of the right actress to play the Amazon goddess.

Rumors and speculations surrounding the part that Carano might play in an upcoming film have been circulating long before the actress caught wind of such things. Would she even consider stepping into a superhero suit to play Wonder Woman? ‘Collider Magazine’ asked Carano how she felt about playing the part of Wonder Woman, and here’s what she had to say:

“That’s a dream to put on a costume and be a whole other level of character…there’s always the possibility that some day I will be a comic book character that I’ll play and I’m not sure who that’s going to be.  It would be fun and fascinating.  We’ll just have to see where my career is going to go.  There’s so much I want to do. I’m…putting myself out there and seeing what’s attractive to me.”

Carano hasn’t been cast as Wonder Woman in any film yet, but she’s clearly open to the idea. It seems as though she’s also ready to don a costume and let the world know that she can pull off the part of Wonder Woman (we have no doubt!). Right now, Carano is working on promoting ‘Fast and Furious 6,’ though we certainly haven’t seen the last of her yet.

We’d also like to point out that we are behind Carano’s taking on the role of Wonder Women 100% -- and we love the fact that Carano and Cavill are dating in the real world (check out our post here). It is also rumoured that Carano will make an appearance in ‘Man of Steel’ as (what else?) the Amazonian woman.

This MMA fighter turned serious actress was BORN to play the part of Wonder Woman! Don’t you agree?

Has Marvel Lost Its Marbles? 0

Can we talk for a minute about the RDJ/Marvel dispute? There are rumors flying around that RDJ might not return to reprise his role as Iron Man in the next installment of the film due to contract differences. Really? Is there any debate here? Can anyone else step into RDJ's shoes? It's not likely.

But it is likely that Marvel (now owned by Disney) will take the Iron Man franchise as far as possible. Disney reps have been quoted as stating that the company is seeking to push Iron Man to Harry Potter proportions. In short: Disney isn't going to stop producing Iron Man films with or without RDJ.

It's amazing to think that Disney purchased Marvel for $4 billion, and the Iron Man franchise alone has already grossed $3 billion including 'The Avengers' - which might not include any of the former cast if Disney keeps haggling over contracts (we wrote about this yesterday here).

Analysts estimate that Disney could lose around 9% of its total earnings if RDJ walks away. That’s a lot of money when you’re talking billions. Does Disney have any real negotiating power here?

Here's a Marvel/Disney wake up call: Iron Man cannot exist without RDJ! RDJ is Tony Stark. The part was practically made for him.

Has Marvel lost its marbles? Maybe; or, maybe Marvel is willing to take the risk. Just look at the number of James Bonds we’ve gone through in the past. Is RDJ replaceable?

Comments? Thoughts? Can you really see someone else playing the part of Tony Stark? Heck, can you see someone else stepping into Pepper Pott's shoes (heels)?

“Avengers 2 : Diss-Assembled ?!?” 0

Trouble is brewing before ‘The Avengers 2’ has even made it to pre-production. Over what? Money, of course! Sources say that the cast of ‘The Avengers 2’ wants more money, but the studio isn't budging.

The devil, as they say, is in the details, and this is the case with ‘The Avengers 2.’

According to ‘Deadline Magazine’ the "…upfront pay, backend compensation, break even points and box office bonuses aren’t pinned down yet for several big stars and castmates…" Not knowing where the money will be coming from is a big deal to any contractor, including actors.

Each cast member of ‘The Avengers 2’ is asking around $5 million upfront, and more on the back end. But, Marvel isn't backing down on this one. Just like the studio didn’t let Chris Hemsworth out of his role as Thor in ‘Thor: The Dark World.’ Rumor has it that Hemsworth didn’t want to reprise the role, but the studio reminded him of his contract resulting in a new Thor movie that will debut on November 8th.

It has also been stated that Marvel has threated to sue the cast of ‘The Avengers 2’ if they don’t honor contract details. Some sources state that the collective response to this threat was a “so what?” Whether or not these rumors are true remains to be seen.

What will happen to the cast of ‘The Avengers 2’ if they don't receive payment details soon? Marvel might replace the cast if they strong-arm the company further. Or, the cast might quit. Either way, an ‘Avengers 2’ may never surface if money gets in the way.

Sources also state that the entire case of ‘The Avengers 2’ is looking up to RDJ. Iron Man 3 has already made RDJ around $35 million and climbing, and RDJ is said to be leading this fight, with his fellow cast members standing behind him.

Will there be an ‘Avengers 2?’ Not if Marvel and the cast of this film can't come to some kind of compromise! We'll keep you posted!

Ben Kingsley Sounds Off On Mandarin Twist 0

Warning: there is a spoiler contained in this article, so avert your eyes if you don’t want to know!

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Ben Kingsley told press a few things about his IM3 character, The Mandarin. We have known so far that Kingsley’s portrayal of The Mandarin involved a twist that is not part of the original plot, and that was the topic of some controversy for quite awhile. What we did not know was how Kingsley felt about the character – and how he feels the character turned out.

When asked whether or not he would have preferred to play The Mandarin without a twist, Kingsley stated: “…I totally would have accepted The Mandarin as The Mandarin, actually.” But, he also went on to tell the Post that he liked the twist that the movie’s screenwriters created. Kingsley stated, “…I did not know when the reveal would occur. And I was delighted when it did, it’s timed beautifully.”

Whether or not you like the idea of a new Mandarin, it’s hard to deny Kingsley’s abilities as an actor, and note that he probably would not have played a part that was sub-par in any way. Coming from a true thespian, The Mandarin (twist and all) sounds like an amazing character that, yes, might not be the original character, but is still awesome all the same.

Iron Man 3 will be available in North American movie theatres this Friday! This film will kick off the long line of summertime superhero blockbusters, and we can’t wait. Are you going to go see Iron Man 3 when it arrives in your town? How do you feel about this “twist” bit? Sound off below – and let us know! Jack's News will be there tonight so stay tuned as we will report back tomorrow with some news but promise not to give anything away!

New 'Man Of Steel' TV Trailer 0

You know it's going to rock. With Henry Cavill stepping into the Superman suit, how could 'Man Of Steel' not be completely amazing? We already knew that the latest Superman movie would focus more on Kal-El's own identity, but the newest TV trailer takes it one step further.

In the trailer, we see Superman asking himself all kinds of questions about his identity, where he comes from, and what his purpose is. The new film taps deep into Superman's psyche, and we might just discover a new thing or two about him.

So far, the 'Man of Steel' previews have been on the serious side, and the latest preview follows that theme. In stark contrast to a film like 'Iron Man 3,' the newest Superman film will include more mystery and less lightheartedness -- pretty deep stuff!

We also heard that there’s a new ‘Man of Steel’ movie trailer coming out soon. The ‘Man of Steel’ trailer #3 will feature more shots of Superman’s past (we might even see a young Clark Kent working various jobs in order to hide his identity), and a few more pictures of General Zod should be included. The music in the trailers is also said to be exclusive to the previews, and may not show up in the film.

In case you missed the preview, you can check out what I'm talking about below. The preview aired a couple of days ago, and it's still being widely talked about on comic book forums across the Internet. After watching the trailer, you'll understand why! Take a look.

Iron Man Goes to South Korea 0

Robert Downey Jr. showed South Korean fans some of his "Gangnam Style" dance moves early this morning in South Korea while standing next to a life-size Iron Man poster. As expected, the crowed went wild.

Downey Jr. is in South Korea kicking off the 'Iron Man 3' world tour. The tour began today in South Korea, and the famed actor wasted no time pointing out how special South Korean audiences were to the film. He publicly emphasized the fact that the world tour for 'Iron Man 3' was starting in South Korea.

During a quick speech, he also stated that Korean audiences are one of the main reasons why the Iron Man franchise took off five years ago. He also went on to say that the current film is "...really worth a couple of hours to spend to go to see at a theatre."

Downey Jr. told fans that this film will focus on the human side of Tony Stark, and that's what makes this installment unique from the rest. He also let fans know that this film won't take place in the big cities that film fans have become so used to.

"I think a lot of what occurs in Iron Man 3 is that he actually goes to the parts of America that aren’t New York or Los Angeles. It is a road trip of sorts, and I think he gets back to an understanding that he is just a worker amongst workers and he is just another person, and I think that's actually very helpful to him,” he said.

Not only did South Korean 'Iron Man' fans get treated to the kick-off of the world tour, but South Korean fans will also be able to view the film one week earlier than North American fans.

'Iron Man 3' debuts in South Korea on April 25th -- that's one whole week earlier than the North American launch date! Next up for the 'Iron Man 3' world tour is Beijing.

Is Mackenzie Gray Lex Luthor? 0

We love it when the Internet lights up with rumours. Don't you? This time, we've got the ultimate rumour for you -- but you might not want to read this post if you don't like (potential) spoilers.

A whole bunch of blogs are reporting that Mackenzie Gray will play the role of Lex Luthor in the upcoming 'Superman: Man of Steel' film. Not familiar with Gray? He's the face of "Dr. Alistair Kreig" (also known as a Lex Luthor clone) on 'Smallville.'

He has also been in more than 100 different shows and films throughout the past few years, and he has the perfect face for a villain. Seriously, if you take a look at Kreig's IMDB photo, you will see what I'm talking about. This guy is the perfect Lex Luthor!

So, just how reliable are those rumours? The first rumour came from an 'I Am Rogue' interview with 'Man of Steel' screenwriter, David Goyer that goes something like this:

IAR: Can you talk about your decision to not include Lex Luthor in Man of Steel?

Goyer: I don’t think anyone has every confirmed that we haven’t included him.

Aha! Luthor will be in the film (at least that's what Goyer seems to be hinting at)! Gray himself has also confirmed that he will be in the film, and what other part could he possibly play than the one that was meant for him (so it seems)?

As has been the case since this film went into production, no confirmation from the studio has appeared. But, we're betting that Lex Luthor will, indeed, appear in 'Man of Steel,' and Mackenzie Gray will be the face of Superman's archenemy!

Are Luke, Leia, and Han Returning? George Lucas Weighs In! 0

Debate over the potential return of Luke, Leia, and Han has been underway for the past few weeks. It was reported weeks ago that Ford, Hamill, and Fisher had all signed contracts and were secured. But, then it was announced that Fisher was only fooling around when she stated that she’d play the part of Leia again.

That interview came from Palm Beach Illustrated and went like this:

Palm Beach: “Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?”

Fisher: “Yes.”

Palm Beach: “What do you think Princess Leia is like today?”

Fisher: “Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”

Sure sounds like a joke that was taken way out of context.

HOWEVER, a recent interview with George Lucas himself may confirm that Fisher’s comments weren’t of the satirical sort after all. Lucas has told Comic Book Movie (CBM) that “we already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation…”

Lucas went on to say that Disney wanted to make a big “whoop-de-do” out of the recent contract signings, so he then backtracked and told CBM that “I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.” Hmm…better be careful what you say in front of a journalist, George!

Might he have forgotten for a moment that Disney actually owns the rights to the Star Wars franchise? Lucas now largely acts out the part of overseer on all of the Star Wars films. Lucas told Bloomberg Businessweek that most of the money he’s made from the Star Wars films has been “…in defense of trying to keep creative control of my movies.”

The ‘creative controller’ is exactly what Lucas’ role consists of these days. He’s on set to say “you can’t do this” and “you can do that.” He knows all the small details of his movies, and his job is to set things straight for the sake of authenticity.

It definitely sounds like all three actors are coming back to reprise their original roles. While Lucas’ comments bring us a bit closer to the truth, we’ll have to sit back and wait for Disney’s “whoop-de-do” to arrive for real confirmation!
