Is Peter Dinklage Bolivar Trask? 0

At the Los Angeles premier of 'Game of Thrones' (Season 3), an odd conversation between a MTV reporter and Peter Dinklage took place. When asked if he would play the role of "Bolivar Trask" in the upcoming X-Men, Dinklage said, "I have no comment, and where did you hear that?"

Dinklage went on to say that he wasn't sure what part he'd be playing, and made a joke about needing to read the script. But, it has been confirmed that Dinklage will be in the upcoming X-Men film...and contracts aren't secured without specific details, so it's unlikely that Dinklage has no idea what part he'll be playing.

To be fair, Dinklage wasn't exactly lying when he answered the MTV reporter's question. He just didn't reveal anything about the script or his character. He also didn't flat out say, "I'm not playing that part," which might have been his response if asked about playing the part of "Puck."

Bryan Singer has told press that Dinklage will not be playing the part of "a shy character," and that Dinklage will not be a CGI character. Singer also told IGN that Dinklage will not play the part of Puck. So, the puck rumour can be put to rest.

Whether or not Dinklage will take on the part of Bolivar Trask is unknown, but there's another possibility too. Singer may have taken great liberties with the new X-Men script, and Dinklage may have a completely new role.

Singer has mentioned a few times that he's a huge fan of Dinklage's, and that the actor will be play a part worthy of his skills. The name of the character that Dinklage will be embodying is expected to be announced prior to the film’s release…until then, we’ll have to keep guessing.

News! X-Men Filming In Montreal! 0

Montreal is home to the famed Schwartz’s Smoked Meat; remnants from Expo ’67; and Jack of All Trades Clothing (of course!). It’s also home to something that Hollywood can’t get enough of: Mel’s Cite du Cinema (or Mel’s Studio).

Many excellent films have been shot at Mel’s including: ‘Immortals,’ ‘300,’ and ‘Confession of a Dangerous Mind.’ Now, Bryan Singer and his crew will be heading to Montreal to film the upcoming ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’

During a recent interview in London, Singer told press that he will begin shooting the new X-Men film on April 15th. Along with Singer, many Hollywood stars will begin crowding Montreal’s lively streets including recent Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence.

The X-Men franchise can’t get enough of Canada, it seems. Past X-Men films have been shot on location in Ontario and British Columbia, and now it’s Montreal’s turn. If we could say one thing to those stars headed to our great city, it’s this: pick up a Jack of All Trades t-shirt or two!

Mel’s has a reputation for keeping press off of studio grounds and keeping things well under wraps, but we can’t help but wonder if we’ll catch a glimpse of any famous X-Men faces this spring! We’ll keep you posted as the stars descend on Montreal’s vibrant streets.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Has Begun! 4

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is underway with Bryan Singer at the helm. Singer recently tweeted a photo of a portion of the massive set to followers, and it looks like this film is going to be huge (see pic below). While X-Men 3 wasn’t well received by all, the new X-Men film will be entirely different.

The upcoming film is based on a 1981 comic book written and devised by Chris Claremont and John Byrne called ‘Days of Future Past’ which ran in “Uncanny X-Men” from issue #141 and #142. The story follows an adult Kitty Pryde, from a dystopian alternate future where mutants have been imprisoned in internment camps by the government and hunted by massive robots called ‘Sentinels’.

To prevent this future from happening, Kitty transferred her mind to her present day self with the hopes of preventing the murder of Senator Kelly by Mystique and ‘The Brotherhood Of Evil Mutants’ in which leads to the anti-mutant future from which she came.

Taking place in 1973, this film will be nothing like the X-Men of old – and that might be a good thing.  Singer is keeping most of the storyline a secret for now, but we do know that the script follows the ‘Uncanny X-Men’ comic closely. So far, a number of actors will come back to reprise X-Men roles including Halle Berry who just signed on to the film.

Additional cast members include Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, Peter Dinklage, Ellen Page, and many others. Needless to say, this film is packed with famous faces.

The new X-Men won’t be joining this summer’s blockbusters, but it will arrive in 2014 aiming for a July release date. The film officially begins shooting in April.
